What is Whispering Wood?

Whispering Wood is a magical real-world mail pack subscription experience. Each delivery brings letters from woodland characters, fun facts, activities, and collectible cards designed to spark imagination and encourage reading.

Who is it for?

Whispering Wood is designed for children aged 6 to 8 years old. It’s perfect for curious, imaginative kids who love stories, nature, and a little bit of magic.

What ages are the mail packs designed for?

Our packs are designed for children aged 6-8 years. Younger children can enjoy them with help, while older children love reading and completing them independently.

Is this safe for children?

Absolutely. Whispering Wood is designed with children in mind. We only collect minimal information (like first name and age) to personalise the experience, and all purchases must be made by a parent or
guardian.

What subscription options are available?

We offer Email only, Standard postal, and Premium postal subscriptions to suit different budgets and preferences.

Can my child join any time?

Yes, subscriptions don’t rely on a fixed start date, and children can enjoy the packs at any time.

How often will my child receive a letter?

Your child will receive one letter each month, delivered by post, or email if you have chosen the Email subscription tier. All
letters and emails are sent on the 5th of each month.

What’s included in each mail pack?

Depending on the plan you have chosen, your child may receive:

  • A hand-illustrated letter from one of the forest creatures
  • A hand-illustrated introduction to four of the creatures, including fun facts and character bios
  • A fun activity page
  • Sheets of stickers
  • Collectible trading cards
  • Colouring-in pages
  • A set of letterhead featuring that month’s creatures
  • A postcard

Each delivery is designed to feel like a special piece of mail just for them.

Can I send this to more than one child?

Of course. You can purchase multiple subscriptions, or if you prefer, there is a sibling option that gives you additional collector cards and letterhead options. See our Products page for more details on this.

Is this a good gift option?

Yes! Off The Screen subscriptions make a beautiful, long-lasting gift that children look forward to every month.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we can ship all over the world. Postage costs will vary depending on your country. Please see the Products page for more details on postage costs.

Where are your products shipped from?

All our mail packs are shipped from our home base in beautiful New Zealand.

How does the email only option work?

The email only option is ideal for people who may have difficulty receiving mail or would prefer a simpler service.

Each month on the 5th when our mail packs are sent out, you will receive in your inbox a high-resolution PDF that you can print at home.

Please note: if you purchase the Email option, no physical product is shipped. This is an Email only subscription.

When will I be billed?

If you have chosen to pay in full for your 12-month subscription, you will only be billed once, at the time of purchase.

If you have chosen to pay monthly for your 12-month subscription, you’ll be billed on the same date each month as your initial purchase, for a total of 12 months.

When are the packs sent out?

Our packs are posted on the 5th of each calendar month. For example, if you sign up any time from 1st to 31st January, your first pack will be posted on 5th February.

Can I try one pack before committing?

We occasionally offer one-off or trial packs. Keep an eye on our website or join the waiting list for updates.

How do I update my address or child’s details?

Just let us know what changes you need to make, and we'll get it sorted for you straight away. All address changes must be made by the last day of each calendar month to be actioned in time for the next delivery.

What if my order doesn’t arrive?

If your delivery hasn’t arrived within a reasonable time, contact us and we’ll investigate and arrange a replacement if needed. Please see our Lost Letters page for full details.

Can I pause, cancel, or change my subscription?

Yes, we aim to make changes or cancellations easy and stress-free.

What if I enter the wrong details?

If you make a mistake, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to fix it before your order is sent.

Do you offer refunds?

If something isn’t right, we’ll do our absolute make it right.

You’re entitled to a refund or replacement for faulty or incorrect items under
